Orthokeratology is the art and science of fitting rigid contact lenses to be worn while sleeping to reshape the cornea and render clear vision without eyeglasses or daytime contact lenses.
Orthokeratology may be called "CRT", "gentle corneal reshaping" or "ortho-k"; it all refers to the same process, but utilizing different manufacturer's products and different levels of expertise. All our Ortho-K lenses are "custom" and "CAD-CAM", meaning we design these complicated contact lenses for your eyes alone by computer and our lab produces them on computer-controlled production equipment to be very precise.
Ortho-K involves no surgery and has an effect which continues for as long as the contact lens molds are worn on the prescribed basis. Ortho-K also can stop the progression of myopia in children.
